Elections are hard work

As of the last published results on jocoelection.org, 55.79% of registered voters in Johnson County voted. This level of participation fell between the high voter turnout of 65% in 2018 and the 51% participation level in 2014. Wyandotte County saw a 37.30% participate rate.

Elections take tremendous effort from election officials, team members, and volunteers. We appreciate all those who worked so hard to make this election run smoothly.

We also want to thank our members who have helped educate voters ahead of the election, and who will continue to do so as part of the League's mission.

And, we want to thank all of those who took the time to vote.
THANK YOU!

DEI Moment - Be an Ally

What does it mean to be an LGBTQ+ ally? An ally is a person who supports and encourages people around them, but most importantly, takes action when they see discrimination. A few suggestions from the Human Rights Campaign and others include:

  • Practice using inclusive pronouns
  • Do your own research
  • Stay current on terminology
  • Advocate for inclusive workplace policies
  • Support organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community
  • Work with elected officials to pass nondiscrimination policies and laws
