March Meeting
Join us to elect new board members and chart our course for the coming year!

The 2025 Annual Meeting Packet is available for your review here and the addendum with the financial report is available here.  We urge you to review the information prior to the meeting. You may access the packet during the meeting on your phone, tablet, or laptop. You are welcome to print the document and bring it to the meeting.  Printed copies will not be provided at the meeting.

Please plan to attend this important meeting to lend your voice to planning for 2025-2026 and beyond.

April 1, 2025 Special Mail Ballot Election

Election day for the special mail ballot election for the City of Lenexa, the City of Westwood, and for the USD 231 Gardner-Edgerton school district.
All mail ballots must be received by 12:00-noon on election day - Tuesday, April 1, 2025

The 2025 Annual Meeting on March 1 will provide multiple venues for you to lend your voice to

the LWVJoCo’s operations and activities in 2025-2026 fiscal and beyond. As usual, the Annual
Meeting will include conducting League business, such as electing the officers who will
comprise the next Board of Directors, approving the budget, and voting on changes to by-laws
and standing rules. The Annual Meeting Packet is available here and the Addendum with the financial information is available here.  Please review the packet prior to the meeting to prepare for the meeting. You may access the packet on your phone or tablet during the meeting.

Following the business meeting, we will convene for small group discussions, during which you will develop strategies to move the LWVJoCo forward in realizing the strategies and goals outlined in the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan.

 The Board of Directors looks forward to seeing you at the March meeting and to hearing from you about the future direction of our organization. Your voice is vital in the continued success of the LWVJoCo!

BOARD AND TEAM UPDATES
Membership Team
The In Person Book Club will meet March 18, 2025 at the Central Resource Library, Room 4, from 2-3 p.m. Access to the room will start at 1 p.m.  The book will be The Women’s March by Jennifer Chaiaverini.  It is a novel of the 1913 Women’s Suffrage March.  Register on the Events Calendar, or contact Membership LWV of Johnson County Kansas for more information.

New Membership Portal. Membership dues payment is now managed by the LWVUS. Dues have increased to $75 dollars per year. You should have received an email from membership@lwv.org to create your account. Or, if you did not receive an email you can directly to the Membership Portal to create your account. You will not have to pay membership dues until your usual dues expiration date.

Please contact membership@lwvjoco.org if you did not receive the email or have questions. 

New Member Orientation will be March 2, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Resource Library, Room 13. The room will open at 1:00 p.m. so come early to chat. 

Give ‘Em a Buzz Program. The Membership Committee is looking for volunteers to make no more than 3 calls per month to members who are up for membership renewal or to create their account in the new membership portal at LWVUS. Please contact membership@lwvjoco.org to volunteer. Thanks to the members who have already volunteered! However, with the new membership portal, more callers are needed.

RiDES Program. If you need a ride to a League event contact Membership@lwvjoco.org.
