About this event

In August, Kansans will vote on a proposed constitutional amendment that could change how the Kansas Supreme Court is selected. Join the League of Women Voters of Johnson County for an informative community program featuring former Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court Lawton Nuss, who will explain Kansas’s current merit-based appointment system and what the proposed change could mean.

What you’ll learn:

  • How Kansas currently selects Supreme Court justices
  • What the proposed constitutional amendment would change
  • Key considerations to help you make an informed decision before you vote
