As we enter this season of thanks giving, joy, and celebration, the members of the Presidential Leadership Team would like to express our deep appreciation to the members and allies of the League of Women Voters of Johnson County. We thank you for the substantial achievements of our Board, committee chairs, committee members, and technical genius in areas noted below.

  • recruiting and welcoming new members;

  • informing and registering new voters;

  • hosting events to introduce candidates to potential voters and to engage State legislators in conversation with their constituents;

  • encouraging candidates to participate in the Vote411 platform;

  • sending postcards and texts to get out the vote;

  • planning the outstanding series of programs for the monthly meetings, that both informed and challenged our members and guests on a variety of topics;

  • welcoming and providing coffee and treats to meeting attendees;

  • equipping us with t-shirts, yard signs, and other gear to spread the word about the good work of the League;

  • communicating, through a variety of media, the purposes, events, priorities, and accomplishments of our LWVJoCo; and

  • identifying individuals to serve as your leaders in 2025-2026.

Details on these tremendous accomplishments are presented elsewhere in this issue and will be published in the annual report available in March 2025.

Above all, we express our gratitude to each of you for your commitment to realizing the mission of the LWVJoCo to encourage informed and active participation in government, to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

We will gather in January 2025 to develop plans to further realization of our mission during 2025-2026.

In the meantime, we very much look forward to seeing you at the Holiday Social!*

Our very best wishes for a peaceful and joyous holiday season.

With gratitude,

Harry, Mary, and Ruth
